Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board has approved streetscape improvements in the Great South Rd Hunters Corner area between Shirley Rd and St Georges Rd.
The upgrade is set to revitalise and refresh the area and will include landscaping, new streetside seating, bins, and footpaths, plus the removal of obsolete amenities like unused tree pits and a bus stop.
Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board chair Lotu Fuli says getting this project signed off is a real milestone for the board.
“We’re really proud to have delivered on so many of our plans this term and we’re really pleased that work is set to begin on Hunters Corner and the surrounding area.
“It is going to really enhance this area for shoppers and businesses alike.”
The project is budgeted to cost $925,000.
